About Me

My name is Dr. Peter M. Nefcy. I was born in 1951 to wonderful parents who are now deceased. I was raised in Detroit and attended Catholic schools with my 13 brothers and sisters. I went to Undergraduate and Graduate Schools in Ann Arbor, and further Graduate and Medical Schools in Detroit.I have taught undergraduate courses at three major universities in Michigan, and have had many years of experience in consulting in Medicine and Engineering.

After Internship in Neurology, Residency in Radiology, andtwo year Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine and MRI in Detroit, I am Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology, and have two additional Board Certifications.I am currently in Private Practice in the tricounty area. For more than 10 years, I have specialized in CT and MRI with Computer CAD/CAM Modeling, primarily in Musculoskeletal Radiology and Neuro Imaging. In the past ten years, I have performed more than 14,000 Arthrograms on all the joints of the arms and legs. I have interpreted over 35,000 CT and MRI studies of the joints, and 25,000 studies of the brain and spine.

For my Arthrogram studies, I have developed proprietary techniques for performing Arthrograms, and these techniques are not taught in any Medical School, Teaching Imaging Facility, or Medical text book. Sometimes a study is difficult due to an underlying problem, but almost always I can promise you an Arthrogram which is performed in less than 30 seconds using only one needle, with limited pain. Most of my patients report that my Arthrogram study hurts about the same as a flu shot.

I supervise and interpret all the CT and MRI studies done with the Arthrogram, and my program always includes a CT or MRI study before AND after the Arthrogram. This is a more comprehensive approach to imaging, and can lead to a more specific diagnosis, which is always more helpful for you and your Doctor. I am always available for consultation with your Doctor.
